Boy hat redo

Here is Chunk o'punk lovin' his new hat.

My boys have this ugly hat that came in a two pack with a really cute hat. We've had this hat for about a year and they never wear it, ever. I was sorting their clothes last week and I found it again. I also found a stack of stained shirts not good enough for donation but perfect for scraps and fillers. And the repurposed was born!
Here is the original shirt. The back is stained up, don't ask me how it got that way. They're boys. So I cut the the tow truck off and a phrase on it that said "Work Crew" I used the smaller picture of the tow truck as flair on a pair of drab shorts.
Then I took some fabric glue and glued it on the brim of my ugly hat. I glued the words "Work Crew" on the back. Totally better. The boy considers it wearable now. Mission: Accomplished.

Shrug

I made my daughter this little shrug to cover her forth of July dress. I got the basic concept from here-- http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2010/06/re-purposing-stained-tshirt-into-shrug.html
I couldn't figure out how to do the gathering so I just left it.
Cute huh?
